LATE SHRI SHRINARAYANJI AGRAWAL MEMORIAL LECTURE

SERIES

Dhamangaon Education Society over the years has been making honest efforts to cater to the educational needs of the students of Dhamangaon and its adjoining rural areas right from Balak Mandir to the collegiate level through its various institutions.  These institutions are prominently meant to impart the formal education as per the needs of the students. Formal education corresponds to an organized and systematic view of education and necessarily includes the specific objectives and subjects encompassed in the traditional curricula. Although the formal education is a pre-requisite of one’s career, it needs to be supplemented by the informal education as it is a means of edification and enlightenment of every individual.  It is aimed at students as much as at the public at large and imposes no obligations whatever their nature. Informal education comprises number of activities. One of the activities can be to arrange intermittently the lectures of erudite and renowned orators on themes of common interests.  Such discourses can cause the listeners  to infuse amongst them  the sense of patience, provide the knowledge on how to look at situations and teach them to look at the world with less anger and hostility and ultimately  guide them to set off on a journey to enlightenment.

Having regard to the need of such an enlightenment of the masses, D.E.S. since 1975 has started Late Shri Shrinarayanji Agrawal Memorial Lecture Series to cherish the fond memories of the Founder and also to accord a thorough sense to the educational activities of the foundation. The subjects of such lectures are normally categorized as spiritual, social, educational, literary, historical, religious etc.

The list of eminent speakers who have so far breathed life into this lecture series by their eloquence and grandeur of style and to whom the audience of Dhamangaon had the fortune to hear is given in the table below.
